Some of the many reasons why you should take the steps to becoming a brother of Delta Epsilon Psi and to live the ultimate college experience.
1. Professional Alumni Networking
“A friendship founded on business is better than a business founded on friendship.”
-John D. Rockefeller
After they graduate, a lot of our brothers pursue employment or further education at prestigious organizations. In a world where competition continuously rises with each day, proper networking could be the difference in beating the competition. Countless brothers have been assisted in their post-graduate plans by successful brothers. Many of our brothers who chose the financial post-graduate path ended up obtaining permanent positions in Fortune 500 companies such as Bloomberg, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan Chase, Deloitte, L'Oreal, and others. A huge chunk of our brothers end up pursuing a medicinal post-graduate career, and prestigious institutes that they attend include UMDNJ, Sophie Davis Medical School, Ross University School of Medicine, Stony Brook, Robert Wood Johnson, and others. Our brothers have achieved success and are not shy to share the secrets to academic and professional excellence for our prospective rushes.
2. Giving back to the Community through Signature Service Events
"We must be the change we wish to see in the world".
As a Delta, our compassion is evident through our community service. During rush week and throughout the semester, Delta Epsilon Psi conducts many philanthropic events to help our South Asian community. One of the largest fraternally sponsored events is Project Come Together, which is conducted by multiple chapters of Delta Epsilon Psi. Our main organization of charitable donations is Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF was the preferred organization of our late brother Vishal Bhaghat who was afflicted with Juvenile Diabetes as well. Delta Epsilon Psi has donated over $125,000 to JDRF, and we plan on increasing that number with more signature service events. One of our main events that we conduct to raise donations and awareness for JDRF, is Sugar Free Bowl. In the past, many chapters donated over $10,000 to JDRF off just one tournament. Our service orientated nature allows our brothers to experience the feeling of self accomplishment by giving back to our community.
3. Academic Excellence
"Excellence is an art taught by training and habituation"
Whether you want to admit it or not, the main reason you attend an academic institution is to achieve a stellar education so that its easier to obtain a good job or attending graduate school. Delta Epsilon Psi prides itself on its commitment to academics. Chances are, many of our brothers have studied, or are currently pursuing the same track you wish to do as well. Our databases and resources to assist you in the most difficult courses are infinite. Along with physical documents, brothers are there to assist you through tutelage. Bottom line is our academic resource bank is bound to help you score better in even the most obscure courses you take. Aside from school exams, our resources extend to national exams such as the GRE, MCATS, CPA, etc.
4. Being Greek for Keeps
"A fraternity is the fuel that allows common people to produce uncommon results"
When you become a Delta, its not a momentary state of euphoria. You have lifetime access to all of the things D.E.Psi has to offer. This doesn't just extend to D.E.Psi. Choosing to be a Greek extends you to all of the privileges that your school's Greek network offers. These benefits may include: facilitated job search, Greek Based housing, and continued networking. (Quick fact: Over 85% of CEO's are Greeks).
5. Viable Social Presence on Campus
"The value of a dollar is social, as its value is attested by society".
Sure you'll make millions of friends when you come to college. However, how many of those friends would be in organizations dedicated to environmental protection or South Asian cultural awareness? Delta Epsilon Psi takes great pride in being one of the most socially recognizable organizations throughout many universities. This social platform allows you an opportunity to meet with students in other fraternities, sororities, or other non Greek Organizations. As a member of Delta Epsilon Psi, we heavily prioritize our social affability with other organizations.
6. Part of an Expanding Movement
"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there".
Twelve Years ago, Delta Epsilon Psi began in humble settings down in University of Texas at Austin. Today, we have over a thousand brothers dispersed through more than 30 universities. Frighteningly enough, that number is increasing astronomically. Potential schools step forward to bring Delta Epsilon Psi to their campuses nearly every semester, and the opportunity to join a movement that is only expanding is a powerful experience. Imagine having over 30 schools where you can go visit brothers and enjoy the particulars that university has to offer. Some brothers at each chapter may have different lifestyles or views on certain things, but their benevolence and open arms to a fellow Delta is the same everywhere.
7. The Brotherhood Experience
"I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit together at the table of brotherhood".
-Martin Luther King Jr.
Every brother in Delta Epsilon Psi can attest to our first fraternal pillar. The brotherhood experience is probably one of the main reasons why individuals pledge a fraternity. Surrounding yourself with individuals who have as much to offer as you do, along with the opportunity to learn from those who pledge with you, allow you to form unforgettable bonds with unforgettable people. Some people say brotherhood is a rewarding experience. Members of Delta Epsilon Psi can take this statement one step further and admit that our brotherhood is not a temporary experience, its a permanent actuality.
