Festival Of India 2012
The Beta Chapter and Pi Colony of Delta Epsilon Psi will host the annual Festival Of India in Dallas, Texas. The prestigious event returns to the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex area for the first time since 2009, when it attracted a record-breaking 4,000 attendees.
The Festival of India is a South Asian cultural showcase, which highlights the various aspects of the Indian culture and tradition. Through various event through the weekend, we look to promote awareness for our heritage and display the pride that Indian Americans possess.
The weekend will consist of different events that will highlight various parts of the Indian-American culture. Details for the events are listed below:
Fashion Show
The fashion show will be held on Arpil 20th at Fun Asia Richardson. Everybody is encouraged to apply to show off their South Asian inspired attire. The Fashion Show highlights the colorful and exotic wardrobes that are part of the Indian Culture. Clothing will range form various parts of India with an added American blend. The SocialList Collection by Silk Threads will also be shown at this show.
Talent Show
The Talent Show will be held on April 21st at the prestigious SMU McFarlin Auditorium. 10 of the Nations best teams will compete for the spot of FOI 2012 Champions. The talent show displays various parts of the Indian culture, ranging from Bollywood/Fusion Dances, Garba/Raas, Bhangra, Musical performances, etc. If you are a part of a team that would like to participate in Festival of India Talent show, please apply online at the Talent Show Registration page.
Application fees are $50, and for teams receiving a bid, the registration fee is $200. The Talent show will feature $3,750 in total prize money.
Basketball Tournament
The Basketball Tournament will be held from April 21st – April 22nd at the University of Texas at Dallas Activity Center. Register you team early online by March 16th at the Basketball Tournament Registration Page.
Registration fees are $225 till March 16th and $275 after. The Basketball tournament will feature $2,000 in total prize money.
Afterhours Nightlife
Festival of India 2012 will feature three of the largest parties in Texas. Thursday, Friday and Saturday will each have parties. Venue locations and other details will be announced soon.
