Rest In Peace: Bhavin Patel
On December 19th, 2011 Delta Epsilon Psi lost one its beloved brothers Bhavin Patel. Bhavin Patel, along with his father and sister, passed away in a tragic car accident while visiting India. Bhavin, a member of Alpha Class, Alpha Alpha Colony had recently become a brother, crossing just over a year ago at the University of Georgia. In the short time that he was a brother, Bhavin made a spot for himself within the organization. Bhavin was known for his kind-hearted spirit, his perpetual smile, and his desire to look out for others. Among the brothers at Alpha Alpha Colony, many thought of him as selfless and dependable. His commitment to service and the pillars of our organization was unwavering.
Bhavin will always be remembered in the brotherhood for years to come. Fenil Patel, a Founding Class member of Alpha Alpha Colony, wrote this about Bhavin:
“Bhavin Patel was my friend, my comrade, and most importantly, my brother. His mere presence brought joy to the people around him whether they knew him well or had just met him for the first time. I can honestly say that Bhavin always sported a smile on his face and uplifted everyone’s spirits. In addition, he was a very ambitious and driven young man. He had planned on graduating the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Biology in 2013 with intentions of attending dental school in the near future. Additionally, he was known as Brother Pyro and was the quad of the Alpha Class at the Alpha Alpha Colony of Delta Epsilon Psi. As a Brother, Bhavin held various leadership positions, rendering him both trustworthy and dependable. He served as a mentor to the underclassmen in all aspects of life from academics to adjusting to fraternity life. In addition to his academic endeavors, Bhavin also enjoyed playing sports such as baseball, basketball, and football in his spare time. He also loved to try different types of food and enjoyed visiting new restaurants. His unfortunate and untimely death was a tragic loss to everyone that knew him. Although he may be physically gone, his spirit will always remain with us and we will cherish his memories forever. Bhavin will ALWAYS be remembered, and NEVER forgotten.”
There are no words or emotions to describe the feeling of losing a brother, however the memories that we all cherished with Bhavin will never be forgotten. Bhavin will always hold a spot in all of our hearts and he will eternally remain a Delta.
