Festival Of India 2011
The Alpha Chapter of Delta Epsilon Psi will host the annual Festival Of India in Houston, Texas. The prestigious event returns to the Bayou City for the first time since 2008, when it attracted a record-breaking 4,000 attendees. This year’s event is primed to surpass that. The weekend will kickoff on Thursday, March 31 with the official launch party at Evo Lounge hosted by the Alluring Ladies of Delta Phi Omega, the Kaptivating Ladies of Kappa Phi Gamma and the Gentlemen of Delta Epsilon Psi with DJ Indo spinning all night long.
Friday’s festivities will kick off with the highly-anticipated Talent Show at Cullen Performance Hall on the University Of Houston campus. The show will feature performances from Penn Masala who have performed for celebrities and politicians such as President Barack Obama. The show will be hosted by critically-acclaimed comedian Dan Nainan. Over $5,00 of prizes will be handed out to the winners of the show. After the Talent Show the official after party will take place at Club Isis with DJ Indo and DJ Blaze on the 1s and 2s. The party will also feature a performance from Houston’s own Z-Ro.
Saturday will begin the basketball tournament at the UH Campus Recreation and Wellness Center. The day will also feature an event celebrating Holi at Lynn Eusan Park on campus. The after party will take place at Stereo Live with DJ Indo and DJ Blaze once again on the turntables. The party will feature another special guest performance this time by platinum-selling Houston rapper Slim Thug. The weekend will close on Sunday with the playoffs of the basketball tournament with the winning team receiving the $3000 cash prize.
