Rho Colony Established - Gainsville, FL

After two years of hard work and commitment, the Interest Group ONE10 has officially been recognized as Rho Colony of Delta Epsilon Psi at the University of Florida. As a new registered student organization, we are proud to join the Multicultural Greek Council.

Since the establishment of the interest group by five dedicated men, we have grown to 13 members, all displaying their utmost commitment to bringing Delta Epsilon Psi to UF. The dedication of each member to the goals of Delta Epsilon Psi, through social and service driven endeavors, has allowed us to succeed and gain recognition.

As an interest group, ONE10 conducted service in several ways, including ongoing service and several service projects. The members volunteered weekly at an afterschool program for underprivileged children. As a result, ONE10 was recognized by the City of Gainesville and a representative from the city came as a guest speaker to the expansion presentation for Greek Life at UF. The members were also key in the organization and implementation of Be the Change – National Gandhi Day of Service at the University of Florida, serving as local coordinators and site leaders. The interest group also collaborated with Fresh Market to co-host an annual JDRF Sidewalk Sale to raise over $3,700 for Delta Epsilon Psi’s primary philanthropy. Through the various service conducted, ONE10 logged over 660 hours of service during the time as an interest group.

Becoming recognized at UF will now allow Rho Colony to conduct more large-scale events for the Greek community, the school and city, and various philanthropies. For example, we hope to host a successful Project Come Together in the near future. We would also like to hold events such as stroll/step/salute competitions for the Greek community at the University of Florida. Through following the pillars and guidelines of Delta Epsilon Psi, the now established Rho Colony will soon be a prominent and successful part of Greek Life at the University of Florida.
