Indestructable Beta Class Unveiling
The night was dark and cold, as we were anxiously waiting on the rooftop of the psychology building, waiting for our probate to begin – waiting for the moment for us to be able to publicly be known as brothers of Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity, Inc. I was going crazy while waiting for out que to start – so many emotions running thorough my head – but first and foremost, I was trying not to mess up – being ace, I had to pull my line through and didn’t want to let them down.
All eyes were on us, the Beta Class of Alpha Alpha Colony. The lights were on us, the three on the roof. We made our entrance and joined the rest of our line. As the probate continued we greeted the most important people, without whom, we would not have been able to go through the process - our Pledge Dads and Pledge Captains. We continued on to greet the organizations that we are structured after, the National Pan-Hellenic Council – the Divine 9. After greeting those who inspired us,
We went on to greet those organizations that continuously support us, the orgs of our Multicultural Greek Council.
As we greeted each organization, I kept on counting down till the moment that I would be unveiled.
At last, the moment came – it was time to be unveiled. All the hard worked we put in to join this fraternity is about to pay off. We are about to be officially known as the new leaders of Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity, Inc.
The feeling you get when your being unveiled is not like any other. It’s the best feeling to know that the whole world gets to know that you are now apart of the greatest fraternity of its kind. Nothing is comparable to the emotions that I felt after I got unveiled by my big brother, Parth “Leonine” Patel, and got to throw up my delta, waiting for my line brothers, with whom I went through hell and back and shared blood, sweat, and tears, to do the same. Without my line brothers, I wouldn’t have made it.
Being a neo is no easy task – it is quite intimidating to know that I have to meet the many high standards that were set by the Founding Class of the Alpha Alpha Colony at the University of Georgia. They were able to have a probate for their Alpha Class, in which they crossed a line of 14, as well as host a Sugar Free Bowl, a Dodging Diabetes tournament, and obtain associate chapter status onto the Multicultural Greek Council. We, as the Beta Class will strive to achieve prestige to this fraternity and make a difference on this campus.
