Pi Colony's Rapid Start

Pi Colony was established on August 2, 2009 by a band of 5 brothers. With over 300 student organizations at the University of Texas in Arlington, these founders believed it was essential to establish an organization that would promote South Asian heritage and culture on campus, as well as the larger Arlington community. After two years of colonization, Pi colony was officially recognized on March 21, 2011 by the University of Texas at Arlington and the Multi-cultural Greek Council as the first South-Asian fraternity on campus. This milestone could not have been achieved without consistent persistence and commitment from members of Founding class and Alpha class. Instead of meeting general standards of acceptance to MGC, Pi Colony exceeded their expectations by completing over 500 hours of community service and also participated in several signature events that promoted awareness to JDRF. In order to fundraise for JDRF, Pi Colony also took the initiative to work at the Dallas Cowboy’s Stadium during each home game and raised well over $1,250 donated to JDRF

Within one week of recognition on campus, Pi Colony was awarded a certificate of achievement for overall 3rd place out of all Greek organizations for participation and competition in recreational and service-related activities. In addition to this amazing distinction, Pi Colony successfully hosted their first party at Zouk Dallas with performances by Baby Bash and Play N Skillz. During India’s run in the World Cup of cricket, Pi Colony of Delta Epsilon Psi provided assistance in security to organizations such as Indian Student Association (ISA) and Pakistan Student Association (PSA.) Within the next two months, we intend on hosting our first Sugar Free Bowl to promote our philanthropy which is Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF.) Our goal as a colony is to strive towards excellence academically and socially to develop lifelong relationships.
