An Unforgettable Experience

During the summer before my freshman year of college at the University of Oklahoma, I rushed a few fraternities in the Inter Fraternity Council. After going to a few rush events with some of my friends, I realized that pledging an IFC fraternity wasn’t for me. During the first few weeks of the semester, I was at one of my friend's dorm room when he suggested that I check out Delta Epsilon Psi. After meeting a few of the brothers and going to a few rush events, I was hooked. I definitely wanted to be a part of this brotherhood. On November 18, 2007, Sharup Karim, Zein Jivani, and I became the Epsilon Class of the Epsilon Chapter of Delta Epsilon Psi, the rest is history.

After crossing into Delta Epsilon Psi, I have made many memories. Many people probably think that memorable moments involve drinking and partying. When I look back at my undergraduate career, I am going to see much more than that. I am going to remember celebrating with my line brothers when we crossed, staying up all night making sure our events were successful, and getting to know my older and younger brothers in this fraternity. I am also going to remember holding five positions every year for three years, meeting thousands of new people, and actually helping out the community of Norman, Oklahoma. I will never forget waking up at the crack of dawn to go set up an event with my brothers. I will never forget the nights when we threw the most ridiculous parties Norman has ever seen. I will definitely never forget those brothers who had my back when anything went wrong in school or in my life. Those are only a few of the memories that I have.

When I graduate this December, I will know that I did everything that I could do, to represent Delta Epsilon Psi to its maximum on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. I can leave in peace knowing that I did all I could to lead this fraternity in the right direction. I am confident that when I leave, the next generation of Deltas will take this fraternity to heights that I could not before my time ran out as an undergraduate. I am definitely going to miss being an active of this prestigious fraternity. People ask me, if I would go back in time and do everything all over again, I tell them, in a heartbeat.
